Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT)

1. Production:
   • BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene) is produced through the reaction of p-cresol with isobutylene in the presence of an acid catalyst. It is a synthetic antioxidant widely used to prevent oxidation in various products.
   Applications:
   • Antioxidant: Used in food products, industrial oils, and plastics to prevent oxidation and extend shelf life.
   • Cosmetics: Added to skincare products, lipsticks, and moisturizers to prevent product degradation.
   • Rubber Industry: Used to delay oxidation in rubber products, increasing their durability
